Strange Times
These are strange times. Not everyone is responding the same way to them. Some of my clients are in turmoil, feeling the changes in visceral ways. Others are feeling more resourced, able to stay on an even keel for the most part.
Many are doubting if how they are feeling is “right”, somehow. Folks that are buffeted by lots of emotions are feeling compounding layers of judgment about how intensely they’re feeling everything. Others that are feeling more “okay” find themselves wondering if they’re somehow in denial.
I’m going to keep this brief. I want you to know that whatever you’re feeling is exactly right for you. You are where you are in your journey on this earth at this time. No one has experienced this particular confluence of events in our lifetime. There’s no “right way” to do this.
If you’re feeling more resourced and stable, I hope you can reach out to your loved ones and loan them some reassurance, some connection. There’s many causes that could use support in the world right now, too.
If you’re feeling more spread thin, I hope you can take care of yourself, rest, and also reach out for support.
Connection is a primary need for us as human animals. COVID-19 restrictions, and perhaps fear on other fronts can lead to that need not being fulfilled.
If you’re sheltering in place alone, I do hope you’re in touch with community at least by telephone or video chat. If you can lie on the earth or lean against a tree, please do. It may seem silly, but your nervous system won’t think so.
If you’re in a COVID pod, remember the value of touch. Hugs, snuggles on the couch or in bed. Your nervous system needs it.
Enjoy the autumn colors if they’re unfolding where you are.
I have space in my calendar if you could use some focused support. Please, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m even able to see people in person on our side porch if you’re in the Portland, OR area. We’ve figured out a safe and easy protocol with plenty of air flow and snuggly heated blankets. Zoom is available if in person isn’t possible.
Blessings all.
